The Centre for Sustainable Transport - India will provide technical advisory services in the following areas:

- Operations Planning
- Demand Modelling
- Infrastructure services and technology
- Transport modelling for system integration
- Implementation, Design, Follow up and Value Assurance Reviews
- User Perception Surveys, Design and Execution
- Capacity Building Seminars and Workshops
- Communications and Outreach of sustainable transport initiatives
CST - India will tap into the experience and expertise of the EMBARQ network while developing projects in India that are in keeping with the local needs and with significant stakeholder engagement and input.
These are some of the identified sustainable transport projects in India. They include:
- Bus System creation and reorganization
- Bus Rapid Transport Systems (BRTS)
- Transport and Traffic Planning Services and Capacity Building
- Pedestrian and Cycle Inclusive Planning
- Urban Design and Public Spaces
- Emissions Inventory and Retrofit Projects
- Communication and outreach activities to build awareness and support for sustainable transport initiatives
How we work in Indian cities:
The Centre for Sustainable Transport - India will undertake the following strategy to work in Indian cities.
- Establish a criteria for selection of cities and operate at multiple levels within these cities.
- Identify stakeholders that can play an instrumental role in helping CST -India achieve its goals.
- Conduct studies keeping in mind policy issues at national level.
- A deeper and closer engagement in select cities who are implementing BRT projects by either diagnosing current problems in BRT projects underway; mediate between different stakeholders to address and take joint decisions on technical issues and third help in building quality assurance review mechanisms by the project implementers.
- Offer specialized assistance in some select cities focusing on technical knowledge sharing.
