We are happy to announce the launch of the city peering program website, under the India – GEF – World Bank – UNDP Sustainable Urban Transport Program (SUTP)
This program will connect Indian cities developing sustainable transport activities with each other, with a special focus on cities working on projects covered under the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). The program will enable knowledge sharing and facilitate the development of capacity by documenting and sharing experiences.
The main objectives of the city peering program are to:
- Help SUTP cities learn from each other by providing mechanisms to facilitate sharing of knowledge and experiences.
- Support the exchange of project planning and implementation activities
- Help develop indigenous best practices that are appropriate and relevant to the local context.
- Disseminate lessons learnt as widely as possible
- Document activities and learning's from the SUTP program, so that they can be used in the future.
The city peering program will help create an Indian knowledge-base so that more cities are able to implement sustainable transport projects. The project also aims to develop capacity by hosting workshops, study tours and sharing international experiences.
