A peer review workshop at the Mumbai Transformation Support Unit was led by EMBARQ.
The goal of the workshop was to review the design and technical parameters of the BRTS corridor as recommended in the feasibility report for the Mumbai BRT, submitted by CES-AECOM to MMRDA in January 2010.
The 3rd annual conference on “Intra–City Transportation” was organized by India Infrastructure Magazine at New Delhi.
Amit Bhatt from EMBARQ was invited to present at the conference. He made two presentations, one on Indore city bus operations and the other on Best Practices in Sustainable Transportation
EMBARQ India, has positively influenced Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL) in finalizing the station configuration for the BRT system in Indore. During the AICTSL board meeting ,it was decided that BRT stations , will now be located in the median of the road with platforms at the height of 900 mm to match the floor height of the new buses procures under the JnNURM scheme.
Chief Minister of Rajasthan Mr Ashok Gehlot formally launched the bus services on 31st July 2010.
200 new buses are procured under the JnNUM Program and will provide sustainable transport to the residents of the city.
The conference was a good meeting platform for Project officers and Technical directors attending from the likes of large developers, construction and engineering companies, investment firms, banks, government agencies and departments, solution providers, research centers and consultants.
EMBARQ India, were knowledge partners at Urban Transport Congress India conference 2010 held in Mumbai.

Madhav Pai addressed more than 30 mayors and ex-mayors from various cities across India.
Mr. Pai an Urban transport expert, spoke to them about recent innovations in India and abroad and how they could initiate projects with these ideas within their cities.

EMBARQ successfully conducted a two day long workshop on Bus Systems Planning and Implementation, on the 26th and 27th of April, 2010. The workshop was held in Delhi at the National Institute for Training Highway Engineers
A workshop on planning and implementation of bus rapid transit systems was conducted on the 3rd March, 2010 in Ahmedabad, as part of the city peering program for the India Sustainable Urban Transport Project (SUTP).

The Observer Researcher Foundation, (http://www.observerindia.com/) in partnership with EMBARQ, organized a roundtable called “BRTS for Mumbai – Why we must…and how we can!” on the 2nd of March, 2010, at the Observer Research Foundation office in Mumbai.

EMBARQ participated in a two day Symposium on ‘Public Transportation for Indian cities with special focus on Bus Rapid Transit Systems on 20-21 January 2010.
